Can I continue to use PB1 until OCR issues are fixed?

In the e-mail announcing PB2, I see that OCR has been “temporarily disabled due to technical difficulties with the new ABBYY FineReader Engine.” Will PB1 continue to work?

Public beta 1 will expire 31 January, 2009.

A release of DTPO2 with functional OCR will be made as soon as possible. In the interim, PDFs resulting from scans may be saved in the Finder and later imported with OCR, or imported into a database as image-only PDFs and later converted to searchable PDFs.
