Can I monitor a folder and pickup files which are placed?

Hi all,

I was wondering if it is possible to monitor a folder and pickup files which are placed there? As an alternative - is it possible the monitor an eMail address and pickup eMails sent to that address?

The usecase is that I am most of my time working with my company laptop and I sometimes have an important private note to store but no access to my private mac with devonthink on it. Any other ideas to solve that issue are welcome as well.

You could index the folder, see File > Index…

DEVONthink doesn’t support this on its own but includes scripts for Apple Mail’s rules, e.g. you could use a dedicated subject, set up a rule, add the “Execute AppleScript” action and use one of the Mail Rule scripts of DEVONthink Pro (Office).

I had wondered whether it would be possible to email items to the DTPO inbox, in a similar way that you can with Omnifocus?
That way if you are away from your mac and come across anything you want to save, just email it and it’s in the inbox next time you reach your database.

See my first reply, the only possibility right now are Apple Mail’s rules.
