I just installed DT4 after having had DT3 before. I see that DT4 brought with it a lot of unwanted links (20 Best of…, 20 Great G…, 22 Best Ma… etc) in somethings called “inbox”. Why does Devon Tech give me such a nuisance?
How can I immediately remove all these Tags that I didn’t ask for? Simply delete?
I don’t want to lose any of my stuff.
Regarding version 4, did you read this…
READ ME – Running the DEVONthink 4 Beta)
Regarding tags, are you referring to links or tags? They’re not the same thing.
And the inbox is the Global Inbox and has always been there, for 20+ years.
A screenshot would be useful as these aren’t items that are added by or shipped with DEVONthink 4.

thanks for replying. I attach 3 screenshots.
One is of the links in the inbox (I know that this existed a long time). These seem to be commercials that came with the installation.
Number 2 shows the Navigation pane. The “radio icon” in the inbox shows 213 items that are likely the commercial links. If I mark the “Inbox”, I can see my items that were in the inbox also before installation.
Then there are Tags “Backchannel”, “Business”,…down to “Security” in bold font. These are not mine and they are full of links as shown in screenshot 3.
How to get rid of this crap?
Those are not added by DEVONthink nor are they “commercials that came with the installation”. That is an RSS feed and those are news articles from the feed. The tags are likely from the feed articles. Disable the RSS setting, Convert categories and hashtags to tags.
Just delete the feed and the tags you don’t want.
OK, thanks. That was very helpful.
You’re welcome
Perhaps it’s more useful to find the reason for some unexpected behavior before throwing around wild accusations? Especially if no one else has apparently made the same experience.
#Chrillek. Sorry, if I stepped on your foot. I apologize.
It’s just that with installing version 3 these things did not occur.
