Hi. Totally unrelated but important for me. How much gpu does dt3 need. I have to select between Mac mini late18 and MacBook Pro mid 2020. Both with 16 gigs ram
Only difference is in number of cores(6 in mini, 4in pro) and gpu(apparently better in pro)
Would appreciate any advice
There is no substantial GPU requirement for DEVONthink.
However, buying a computer that fits your needs now and in the near future is always advisable.
Because I currently am using a Mac mini late 14. And devonthink is really really sluggish . One of the main reasons I am planning for a new Mac is this. Should I invest in more ram or processor to get a smoother dt3 experience?
RAM is more important for DEVONthink. However, you should be looking at the File > Database Properties for the databases to see how many words / unique words are in each open database.
