Changing the default color and fill color for annotations

I have some PDF files where parts of a page contain confidential information. Occasionally, I need to print those PDF files with the confidential parts hidden. My usual method of doing this is to use the annotation tools, and draw a white rectangle with a white fill color over the part I don’t want printed.

This works perfectly well, but every time I draw a rectangle, it appears with a red outline and no fill color. I need to manually change both to white. Is there some way to make it default to “white/white” instead of “red/none”?
