I’m not sure why this is happening, but now whenever I try to capture a web page as a PDF (paginated or otherwise) or as a web archive from Chrome, either via the extension or a bookmarklet, it imports a bookmark into the relevant database instead. Any suggestions as to why, or what to do?

Just checked, and this is also happening from Safari, for both the extension and bookmarklets! Maddening!
