Clip to Devonthink and NY Times

I’m having trouble with the clip to Devonthink extension (on both Safari and Chrome) and the NY Times. In the past, I could clip a complete article to Devonthink as a pdf. Now all I get is one paragraph and an arrow icon that goes back to the original article. But that link also requires me to log in to the Times again.

I suspect the problem is with the Times site and not Devonthink, but was wondering if anyone else has encountered this and whether anyone has a workaround

Thanks.

That has been discussed a number of times on the forum. Clip to DEVONthink requires independent reloading of the page, which will (on pay for access or secure sites) lead to capture of the login page.

A workaround can be “printing” the page as PDF by invoking Command-P to bring up the Print panel, the clicking the PDF button and choosing the option to save PDF to the DEVONthink application.

My favored mode of capture of HTML pages is as rich text capture of a selected area of the page, using the Service command, Command-) (Shift-Command-0). That works in Safari, DEVONagent Pro and DEVONthink’s browser. It does not work in Chrome or Firefox, as those browsers don’t properly handle OS X Services.

Sometimes the NYT spreads a long article among several pages. After capturing selected article content of the first page using Command-), load in sequence the next pages, select the desired content on each and press Command-@ to append to the captured first page rich text file.
