For quite a while, every time I use the Clip to DEVONthink widget using Safari’s share sheet to create a PDF, the result in DTTG is a zero byte Temporary Document.
Is this a known issue, and is there a setting I can change to fix this?
I’ve run into the same issue when clipping Safari web pages using DTTG, DEVONthink 3, and DT4 — the main content often fails to download. I tried using the Formatted Note format with Clutter-Free enabled, but many pages return an “abnormal environment” warning or simply don’t load properly. Clipping as Markdown doesn’t work either in those cases.
My current workaround is to first clip the full web page using the Formatted Note format (with Clutter-Free disabled), then convert it locally to Markdown. I manually remove unrelated content, and finally convert it back to a Formatted Noteso that it’s easier to annotate.
Igrso, thanks for the details, at least I know I’m not the only one experiencing this!
My work-around is to clip from Safari as a bookmark. Once in DEVONthink, I can convert the bookmark to PDF. Not ideal and I’m hoping there’s a “fix” so clipping as PDF works as intended.
