"Clip to DEVONthink" using graphics card, shortens battery life

I was wondering why the battery life on my 16-inch MacBook Pro was shorter than my old 13-inch… turns out that the DT clipper is activating the high-end GPU, forcing high-performance mode. In Activity Monitor, it’s the only app that says “Graphics Card - Yes”. It’d be great if this could be rectified to save my battery!

We will investigate this. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Great - thank you!

And now that I’ve noticed, I also see that QuickLookUIService (DEVONthink 3) is preventing App Nap, which may also increase battery drain.

According to your previous screencap, it’s not so I’d say that’s a sporadic condition.

It’s there, just in a different column:

It’s still like that after an hour or so and hasn’t changed.

  • What OS and version of DEVONthink are you running?
  • Have you rebooted recently?

Recently rebooted, macOS 10.15.5, DT 3.5.1

This process is completely controlled by macOS.
