Close 2nd database before synching?

I use Dropbox as a sync store between my desktop and laptop. Should I keep one database closed when synching the other? And then close the 1st and open the 2nd to sync changes to that one?

No, this is not necessary.

Well, it’s necessary for me, as I don’t want the numbers visible, and I can’t find any unread items to mark as read. I’ve even created a smart group for unread items, and it turned up empty.

Umm… I’m confused. You asked if you should do something or not. I answered the question and let you know, No - it’s not necessary to close a database when Syncing.

SO sorry. I had another thread going and thought this was a reply to that. Apologies.
