Consistent Crashes on Import To 1.8

I’m unable to upgrade to 1.8 because the application crashes during import to the new database format.  I sent the crash logs to Devon.

Can someone confirm whether this is a known problem, and whether a fix will be offered?

DT 1.8.1 shoulnd’t crash anymore as this version uses a background task to im- and export certain documents. E.g. Cocoa/Mac OS X crashs quite often while reading Word or RTFD documents and as we can’t fix this problem (it’s Apple’s job), we’ve added this separate task. And if the background task crashs, this doesn’t force DT to crash of course.
