Convert Keywords to Tags - handling the slash '/' character and dates

Hi everyone.

I’m really at that stage where I only remember enough to be dangerous with scripting etc.

I’m trying to get files out of “paperless” (Mariner) and need to convert Keywords to Tags. I note there is both a SmartRule action and an “on import” option, both don’t seem to handle a ‘/’ character in a keyword the way I’d expect.

The biggest issue is dates, but it’s problematic with other keywords on occasion.

A date of 12/1/2023 get converted into three tags - 12, 1, 2023 rather than just the full string (12/1/2023).

Is there anything else I can do to work around this, or something I’m doing wrong?

Thanks!

The behavior may be unexpected but it’s not an error. A forward slash is used for locations.

I’ll look at this once the Mac is awake and the coffee is done

Any theories on this one? I think I’ve found a work around for the date by pulling from the file name rather than the tags, but it still means there’s lots of manual clean up…

No theories as I already explained it’s not a bug or an error and it’s behaving as designed.
