DTTG now support editing markdown, though it’s not very convenient without markdown syntax shortcut when editing. Could DTTG add those shortcuts above the keyboard, just as other plaintext editor apps.
Thanks for the suggestion. It has been noted but no promises on if or when. We do have things we are looking at for increasing the functionality of our text editing. Cheers!

I agree this would be extremely useful. 
Since DTTG now supports document provider on iOS, it is easier than ever to edit your files in Textastic or other fine editor that supports special keyboards and many other markdown features you will never see added to DTTG. DTTG already works very well right now with other apps in the iOS universe, so why not take advantage of that?
