Crash on macOS 27.0 Developer Beta 1

I’m testing the new OS on a test Mac that can be wiped with no trouble and no data loss. DT 4.3.1 crashes on launch.

To the Devs: do you want a crash report to get a heads up on upcoming changes, or are you already planning to pull it down and start to dig into the weeds?

The first developer betas are usually very buggy, therefore no real surprise here.

The next maintenance release will fix this.

The following are also causing DEVONthink to crash on macOS27:

  1. Utilization of the Safari Share Extension
  2. Utilization of the Raycast extension to search the DEVONthink database.

Hope that sharing this information is helpful!

Can confirm that 4.3.2 does open under the developer beta 1. I did download it directly from the Devon Technologies website instead of checking for updates. However, the Safari Share extension creates a bookmark (web internet location) instead of creating a PDF when the PDF was specifically requested. I don’t have Raycast, so can’t confirm that behavior.

Welcome @mdgc
Creating a bookmark isn’t necessarily a Golden Gate issue. A bookmark is created when the selected format can’t be clipped.

By the way, while reports are fine to send, bear in mind you shouldn’t be running a beta operating system on a machine you need running properly. Also, the beta is a moving target. Apple will be changing things backwards and forwards, so we can’t fill every hole Apple may dig out again.

Agreed. I’ve been a private beta tester before for other companies, so I know the rules… and it’s not on my primary machine. ! Just thought I’d follow up for those who were following this thread.

Glad to hear it and we appreciate the input and clarification!
