I’m about to put together a Wiki. I’m curious if it is optimal to use the native linking tools in DT4 or to add “Hookmark” and use their linking tools “instead or in addition to”?
Thanks in advance

There are dedicated apps to create and manage Wikis. I’d use one of those.
It depends on the type of documents you will have in your wiki. If lots of different types, then a dedicated wiki tool as @chrillek suggests may be better.
I have a bird ID wiki in its own database in DT. It is indexed to 1Writer (it would also work with Obsidian or any markdown apps that supports wiki links). My ID notes are held in individual markdown documents and interlinking between documents is done with wiki links [[ ]]. I make sure that each document name is unique. With markdown, I can add images and weblinks. PDFs are more of a problem if you want to display them within a note. I convert them to JPGS or, if the document is large, do a file URL link.
If I get several md notes relating to the same bird or bird type, I can create a ‘merged’ document either by merging in DT or by using markdown transclusion. E.g. I might have a ‘Geese ID’ document that is a transclusion of each individual goose (Greylag, Brent etc.) IDs.
My total wiki is really a tree structure with a master indiex, bird groups and individual birds and cross related with wikilinks.
I hope this makes sense. The thing to consider is the variety of documents types and the structure you are aiming for.
Sorry, I should have provided more info.
I’m a consulting engineer and expert witness on over head cranes. My business DT4 database consist of two parts. Part A are hundreds of industry specs, engineering books, whitepapers, etc. All PDFs. Part B are legal docs, spreadsheets, photos and videos. 80% PDFs. This DB is currently about 51GB in size.
My objective is to use wiki linking to contrast and compare deposition to other depos and depos to regulator facts. Also to itemize key points and speed up the report writing process.
My vision of this wiki is as an organization tool and not an informational sharing tool.
WikiLinking isn’t a contrast/comparison tool. It’s a linking device, allowing you to navigate through your documents conceptually.
