For some reason, my files aren’t renaming like they used to before. The file in the raw path isn’t renaming either and the editing window (when you press ‘enter’ while you have selected a few) ‘sticks’, for some reason.
I’ve tried Verifying & Repairing the database where I first discovered this issue, to no avail. This situation happens across multiple databases, so it isn’t confined to one database.
I haven’t done anything in particular or changed anything (in regards to software or the DTPO database/application), so I’m getting quite concerned.
I’ve attached a screen capture of this in action. It’s available in HTML5 video form here, gfycat.com/ImmediateAmpleGoldfinch , or if you prefer to see the .GIF version, it’s here:
For example, in the (second) GIF right above: if I rename my file ‘test’ in the selector window, it won’t stick unless I open up the Info pane and paste it into the ‘name’ area. Even so, the file in the Path area won’t change correspondingly, as it used to.
No, I don’t use TotalSpaces. The only apps that I have open is Safari, Chrome, TextEdit, Excel, DEVONthink Pro Office, OmniOutliner 4 and Pages 5. I’ve not updated any of them recently.
Rebooted. Closed DTPO and reopened.
Have not installed anything, nor have I had any major fluctuations in disc space for the past week.
Did the Apple Hardware Test, nothing of note came up. Same situation with Disc Utility.
No, but there shouldn’t be an issue with the SSD in my MBA.
I don’t think it’s just a visual issue (the suggested UX issue conflict with TotalSpaces): When I try to rename something from the Info panel, the Path name is unchanged.
Booted into the Recovery partition, ran Disc Utility. No problems with Verifying the disc, and Disk Permissions as well.
Looked in Console.app and saw some error logs. I added a PDF file at 5 PM into DTPO and then duplicated an existing OmniOutliner 4 file and tried to rename it and started running into problems.
The renaming problem continued onwards throughout the evening, across multiple databases.
Can anyone decipher what the error is? Thanks.

Personal notes:
-I have to say it really doesn’t like the .pptx file that I imported. It doesn’t appear to have anything to do with the Duplicated OmniOutliner 4 file that followed the adding of the PowerPoint file.
Going to do a bit more digging.
Would love to hear from you guys.

I’ve deleted the PowerPoint, and one of the test files that I’ve used for the screen capture demonstration.
I’m unable to remove it from the Trash though. I press Empty Trash but the files still stay there. I went into finder (Right click --> Show Finder) and manually deleted the files, but they still stay in the ‘Empty Trash’ area.
