I’m trying to use DA Pro 3 on an iMac 3.06 GHz with 4 GB ram. Trying a deep search turns my mac to glue and I end up having to use force quit as everything gradually stops responding. Is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong?
You might be running out of real memory but virtual memory is much slower than real memory. How many applications are running concurrently and how much free memory is available (see /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor.app)?
Reducing the number of concurrent connections (see Preferences > Download) might improve the responsiveness too although even the maximal number shouldn’t be a problem.
Finally, which search set and term did you use?
