Hello, I’m writing with an issue that I hope I can explain clearly enough. I am running DTTG 3.8.15, and I have a database called “Research” that I’ve synced to DTG using Bonjour. The sync was not working, so at a certain point I turned the database back “off” and then “on” in the “Locations” menu. Unfortunately, when I did that, this created a new, duplicate “Research” database in the app, which only downloaded files from my computer. The old database contains various new files and other updates that I want to sync to DTG. So I went and deleted the new database, but now it seems that I have just severed the link to the database on the computer, as (I think) the attached screenshot shows. How can I get DTG to talk to the original database on DTTG again?
I apologize for the somewhat garbled nature of this post, I am doing my best to explain what happened here. I will be glad to provide more details.
What about turning that toggle on again? As long as it’s off, you won’t sync this database

This brings back the duplicate database, in other words the one that is synced to DTG, but does not include the new files / updates I made in DTTG. Attaching a screenshot for ref.
This is what the manual says:
It seems strange that the local “Research” database is not listed among the available databases…
Did you perhaps set up your iOS device as a Bonjour server? (Settings > Bonjour)
(This post I’m quoting here is a good read in general if you have trouble with Bonjour.)
Did you compare the UUID of the two “Research” databases? Are they identical? (You can long-press a database and copy the item link)
Did you try a Verify & Repair on the local database in DTTG?

Thanks for this. The iPhone is not the server, Bonjour is not enabled in DTTG.
The UUID of the two “Research” databases is the same.
I read Jim’s guide, and followed the various steps in the troubleshooting section, including removing the sync location on my phone. Still, when I add the sync location again and enable the “Research” database, it produces this duplicate copy.

You should stop what you’re doing, quit DEVONthink To Go and DEVONthink, and immediately update to DEVONthink To Go 3.8.16.
Also, I hope the backups on your Mac are current.
And you can open a support ticket too.
Oh damn, I forgot to look at the version number!

Upgraded DTTG now, and it seems that the overall situation is the same, in other words I am syncing to the duplicate database.
The Mac database doesn’t reflect the content I created on DTTG, but I could transfer over most of those updates manually if I had to.
Noted about a support ticket!
That is correct. Moving to 3.8.16 is an emergency measure not a resolution. Damage still needs to be assessed.
The sync was not working, so at a certain point I turned the database back “off” and then “on” in the “Locations” menu.
This is actually what caused the issue in 3.8.15.
