Devonagent can't initiate a search

I’ve had no probelm with devonagent up to now, but suddenly it has stopped searching.

I can see that the same problem was posted on may 27 2005. The solution appeared to be a security app that was blocking devonagent. As far as I know I don’t have a security app that could be doing this.

Can anyone suggest another reason for this. My internet connection is fine.

I managed to fix this. Used the procedure given last may. Threw out the preferences, repaired permissions, and did a disk repair.
