I just purchased the license to get access as I am unable to open DEVONthink. Was this not necessary?

If I downgrade back to DT3 will it corrupt my database?
- You were unable to open what version? And what is the specific issue are you having with opening it?
- Of course not. There is no conversion or migration of databases between 3 and 4.

I only have DEVONthink 4 installed. I migrated all data on my laptop to this and it will not open at all. It says the activation number is only compatible for Devonthink 3 and links to the website to purchase for a year which I did (upgrade to 4). Still will not open on my laptop. Desktop still running on DT3 opens fine.

Yes. It was ona different machine. It looks like the update fixed it.
