I have purchased DEVONthink 4 a few weeks ago and now the license stopped working telling me that the license code I received for v.4 is actaully valid for v.3:
“The entered license code is not valid for this application but it is for DEVONthink Pro 3.x. Please download and install DEVONthink Pro 3.x which will happily accept this license code.”
I do not want to reinstall v.3 as I purchased v.4 - this is a stopper for my work!

I dismiss the license window and start the app again and then it works fine. It’s an annoyance that is being worked on fixing I think.
It worked for me for a few days but today that workaround stopped workingÖ after dismissing the pop up, DEVONthink quits! Tried it several times!
I am stuck.
I also had to dismiss several times in a row and it persisted. I also noticed that Typinator stopped expanding snippets. Then I rebooted the Mac and now it works again. Something is strange and I hope someone figures out what soon.
Does it work again after downloading the app again from our website and replacing the installed application? Do you use macOS 15.4.1? Or a beta of macOS 15.5?
I started having this problem two days ago. I went ahead and followed cgrunanberg’s advice and downloaded and reinstalled the beta, and still no joy. Every time I exit the app and then restart it, I’m prompted to re-register. The only way it allows me to is via the web as when I copy and past the license key it tells me it is for version 3. This last time, when I used the web to install the license key it told me that it had been done 5 days previously. Definitely becoming a pain. 
Any thoughts on other alternatives to get around it?
Very strange, I just restarted Devonthink, and this time the license info persisted. No changes in OS, still running 15.4.1, but not it appears to work. Will report back if it happens again. Thanks.
This has already been discussed and will be addressed in the next maintenance release.
Same problem here. I have deleted v4 and will uge v3 until further notice. I feel a bit silly to have purchased a new licens apparently for no reason.

I’m not sure what you mean here. You didn’t purchase an additional license trying to resolve the issue, did you?
That reaction is not helpful: it is obvious what our colleague means. We purchased timed licenses for v.4 and we cannot use the product during the interval.
I think all v.4 licenses purchased to date should be extended by one year as a compensation for the inconvenience. I keep all my work documents in DEVONthink and for one week I never know if I will be able to work or not during the coming day. Is always a surprise if the license pop up shows or not.
Why do you even use a beta in production? That is explicitly discouraged.
And the beta period is not counted against the one year license, so it is in fact free.
Where can I download the latest Devonthink 3 release? In my customer account there is a link to legacy releases, but it leads to an empty page. Also I get the link to the newest release DEVONthink 4.0beta2 but this link also does not work ( AccessDenied Access DeniedV2EE8R…). Could anyone support me?
Update: I found a working link to the legacy versions.

No, but I bought a license to be able to use the newest version. And that has a 1 year timespan. It is not a big deal, just a bit silly as I wrote. I’ll go to v4 when it is released.

I hope so, I just renewed and am now completely dead in the water, the only way I can get to my documents is via my iPad.
Edit: I just downloaded the install package again, it not says beta 2, but I’m in and it is working for now. I did look for another thread regarding this topic and an update, but couldn’t find it.

When you visit our Download page and download DEVONthink 4, you get 4.0 beta 2. The same when you open DEVONthink and let it update itself.
