I’ve been trying out DEVONthink, and it so far it appears that it doesn’t search Microsoft Word footnotes/endnotes. Would anyone be able to confirm that behavior?
Test of Word Searching Footnote.zip (53.4 KB) . I see same with DEVONthink 3.6.1 on Big Sur 11.0.1. Attached is my test docx, doc, and a PDF to show the footnote with special “xcxcxc” in footnote to search.

Meantime, user’s can right mouse click, “Open With” the native source-code program for Word’s proprietary file format and see all the Word special features that may not be picked up in Apple’s (I think that is what DEVONthink uses) file view. All is not lost.
