I want to remove a database from my DTTG4 on IOS. I am on the latest version 1.4.3

I checked the forum and did find references, but somehow they don’t fully match what I see.

I go to Settings → Synchronization → Locations → WebDav

My databases are synced through WebDav and I do see the database I want to delete.

If I uncheck the database it simply stops syncing and the database stays on my iPhone.

If I swipe right to left I do get three options for clean and verify but not for delete.

Where can I delete the database?

Long-press the database for the typical iOS context menu. You’ll find a delete option there.

Thanks. I had already done that but didn’t notice that I had to scroll down.

After activating the “Delete Options,” the squirrel appears, and it says that the database is being deleted. However, nothing happens, even if I leave the phone open for days. The database is not actually deleted. It only says that it is doing it. How can I really delete the database now so that it is actually gone? It does not disappear. What should I do?

How large is that database?

Oh sorry, in number of items. The GB size is irrelevant. It should remove the database within a few minutes, even with tens of thousands of items.

After several days of syncing via WebDAV, I decided to start over from scratch. That is why I wanted to delete the database, and I also deleted DEVONthink 3 To Go. Now I am stuck: I cannot delete the database, but I also cannot reload it. Basically, everything takes forever. It seems as if there is an endless loop running somewhere.

That’s quite unfortunate. Is the database completely synced or is it also still in transit? It seems something went wrong along the way. I’d recommend sending us a support email from inside the app that will include also the console log. Maybe we see something there.

I just send it. Anyway it took my week to get my database to the iPhone. One the other hand it took me just hours to sync the same databases to my Mac …

Do you sync directly or via some service? Also, was the “downloading” phase so slow or the “synching” phase?

Downloading extremely weeks - also synching is much too long in comparison to the Mac.

Synching is slower, that is expected. Downloading uses the exact same codebase so that is the difference between macOS and iOS here. We’ll look into your ticket!
