DEVONthink - 'Tokie' Support

I just came across https://tokie.is/ (Tokie)

I’m intrigued by the way they use a file in every finder folder to provide Tokie with instructions on how to render a folder view. This enables inline previews of HTML (allowing for widgets), rendered markdown previews, custom metadata and labels etc.

It struck me that DEVONthink would in theory be able to support Tokie’s format (since it’s file-based) and render Tokie inline previews and list views with custom metadata.

Potentially this would allow users to optionally create folder views within DEVONthink that function very similarly to a Notion page or similar.

Tokie is a fascinating idea - I am surprised I have not heard more of that until now. Looks incredibly versatile.

Have you tried putting a Tokie file in a DT4 group and then right-clicking on another file in the group and choosing “Open With Tokie” ? There is a chance that might work since fundamentally DT4 does use the MacOS filesystem.

I bet that would work with indexed locations. Imported groups don’t correspond to file system folders.

Agreed, tokie looks interesting.
