Displaying Markdown with front matter (BUG)

Markdown files with front matter do not display in DEVONthink To Go.

An example document or snippet would be appreciated. In addition, which version do you use?

4.2.3.

Here is some text.

Does it work without the empty line before the front matter?

Metadata must be at the top of the file with no empty spaces. This applies to YAML as well as MultiMarkdown-style key/value metadata.

Note I am not seeing Markdown with non-compliant YAML not displaying in DEVONthink To Go 4.2.3. It’s just showing the YAML as text, which is to be expected in this case.

Sorry, I don’t have any spaces at the top of my file even though it seemed that way from my snippet. Nothing shows for me. Edit shows the YAML, but not the “Here is some text”

A screen capture of the document in preview and editing mode would be useful.

What are the three asterisks after the frontmatter supposed to do?

Draw a line.

I’m not sure this is a bug with front matter display. It could be caching/syncing. For me, sometimes the file displays, sometimes it doesn’t. I’m trying to figure out what conditions cause the file not to display. If I can figure it out, I’ll report back here.

The next release will improve the front matter parsing.

If you’re working on it, any chance it could be made to understand TOML frontmatter? Or at least skip it or display it as preformatted text? It’d be nice if I could index the source files for my Hugo web site.

The request is noted, with no promises.
