To reproduce:
- Select multiple PDFS, some of which are not OCRed and some of which are
- Right-click and choose
OCR > To searchable PDF - The confirmation dialog (below) appears
- Check “Don’t ask me again” and click Cancel
Expected behaviour: the dialog does not reappear.
Actual behaviour: the “don’t ask me again” setting is ignored, and the dialog appears, and must be manually dismissed, once for each PDF that was already OCRed.
That makes that checkbox pretty pointless! At least you can hit Esc repeatedly to get through them all — but if you then try and OCR another already-OCRed PDF after they’ve all finished, it appears again!
It looks like it’s only being saved if you hit Confirm, rather than Cancel — so you can avoid being spammed with prompts if you want to re-OCR all the PDFs, but if you just want to select the lot and have it skip the ones that are already done, you don’t have that convenience.
Could this setting be made to work with the Cancel button as well as the Convert button, please? (The button would read better as “Don’t Convert” rather than “Cancel”, too, now that I think of it — that would be a lot clearer! It feels like it’s working as a standard Cancel button which doesn’t bother saving the checkbox setting, but it clearly should…)
