Double-click + modifier key to open document externally/in devonthink

Sometimes I’d like to open a document in the default external editor, sometimes I prefer to use the features and context of Devonthink. That applies for PDFs, RTFs, Markdowns, …

I know of the preference checkbox that allows to define what “double-click on a doc” does.

I wish for a modifier key to this double-click behavior to occasionally switch to the other behaviour.

Thanks for the suggestion! You could e.g. use a toolbar item for the less frequently used action. Or the appropriate shortcut (Cmd-O or Cmd-Shift-O).
