Drag-and-drop file types?

I’m starting to move a lot of filetypes into DEVONthink and I’m curious about the rules with respect to drag-and-drop. Can I specify that files always are created as Markdown? I seem to get Rich Text files now.

DEVONthink does never convert files while importing, they’re just copied to the database package.

There is only one rule: When you drag a file into DEVONthink it creates a copy of that file in its database. The original file in the Finder is kept unaltered and so is the copy in DEVONthink.
What you could do though is you could create a Smart Rule that on import automatically converts all files of type X to type Y and deletes X.
