Dropbox error 507

“the operation couldn’t be completed. dropbox error 507…
insufficient cloud storage”

anybody?

of course my Dropbox still has plenty of free space (still 5GB free)

According to Dropbox:

Does this still happen?

no, but it is not the DB server…
it is DB itself that miscalculate the space available
thanks anyway

Was this resolved?
I get the same sync error and of course I have more than a terabyte available on both Dropbox and iCloud.

Ok, so I found out something.
I have a free Dropbox-account with my gmail. That account is full.

However, my sync settings in DT3 are connected to another Dropbox-account:

But, when I login to my gmail-Dropbox it is full because of all the DT packages. This screenshot is the entire content of that DB-account:
CleanShot 2024-08-08 at 09.01.09

As you can see from my first screenshot, my Mac Studio syncs perfectly and all the time. The issue is on my laptop/iPad.

Can I remove my sync and add it again or is there something else I can do?

Does another computer/device use the free account? Which one?

No. In fact in my gmail-DB account it says:
Devices
You haven’t linked any devices to your personal Dropbox account.

In the gmail-DB under Apps it says this:

Although I didn’t connect anything on July 26. It was, though, the last time the other devices synced.

Is it save to press ‘Disconnect’?

The devices are never listed. But which account is used on your computers, iPhones & iPads according to the sync settings in DEVONthink & DEVONthink To Go?

My Mac Studio, Macbook, iPad and iPhone are all logged in to my non-gmail account both on the app and through the browser.
Dropbox itself syncs perfectly on all of them.

The Dropbox.app & browser do not matter, only the account shown in DEVONthink’s and DEVONthink To Go’s sync settings.

Yes, they are all the same non-gmail account.

Did you check the date of the folders/files of these packages, is this old data that e.g. was used in the past to synchronize DEVONthink? In that case it should be safe to delete the stuff.

My gmail-DB is filled with a lot of files that were created/modified around 6PM July 26th.

But if I delete those, wouldn’t they just fill up the dropbox again?

I checked all my devices again and it’s only my laptop that is not syncing DT. Would it be easier to just reset DT on the laptop? And how would one go about doing that?

See in the “DEVONthink Manual” the Sync Troubleshooting section. If you’ve not already done a Verify and Repair as it says in that document, the next step is “clean” which means

“to remove the sync data in that location. The results of the clean will be reported in the Log window. After a successful clean, you can upload the database(s) again.”

There is more to read there which may help you.

Great - I did all this now.

Now it says for all my databases:
“Not yet synchronized, upload database.”

I can’t see anything about this in the manual.

Perhaps simply setup the connection to Dropbox for those databases you intend to sync?

May I ask how this was resolved? I have the same exact problem. DTsync set to my Dropbox account with mega-storage but for the past month DT keeps trying instead to upload to my free/full Dropbox with a different email.

I don’t believe I ever asked DT to sync to that free Dropbox account, but perhaps it became aware of it when I logged into the free Dropbox using browser? Thanks!

You had to have authenticated to the free Dropbox account. DEVONthink would not do this on its own.

Can you still log into the free account?
