Dropbox Sync -- syncing to wrong account

I’m having an issue trying to set up syncing via Dropbox. It’s working seamlessly overall. However, on just one laptop, DevonThink wants to set up Dropbox sync with an old Dropbox account that I was once signed into Dropbox with. This account still exists, but I’m no longer with the organization, so I can’t delete it or anything.

Using Dropbox, I’ve tried to follow @BLUEFROG 's instructions to unlink DevonThink from Dropbox, but since that is for my regular Dropbox account (the desired account, not the outdated account), it doesn’t do what I need.

I’ve tried doing an “advanced reinstall” of Dropbox, but that hasn’t worked. I fully uninstalled and reinstalled DevonThink on that laptop as well.

No matter what I do, DevonThink still seems to have the information for this old Dropbox account lingering around somewhere, and I can’t seem to unlink it.

I know in the DTTG app, there’s a place to specify Dropbox accounts, but that doesn’t seem to exist on the Mac version.

Is there anything else I can try? I’m frustrated and at a loss!

Thanks so much.

Just a follow-up with a bit of new information – I deleted Dropbox from my laptop entirely and can somehow still sync DevonThink to Dropbox using the “outdated” account. Interestingly, I can’t actually log into this account via Dropbox.com because I don’t have access to the 2FA, but maybe DevonThink was previously authenticated and can still make file transfers?

Why are you reinstalling? If you read the entirety of the post you linked to, it clearly states an uninstallation is not a normal procedure.

Lastly, start a support ticket regarding the issue you’re having.

I’ll do that. Thanks.
