If I use Dropbox for syncing a database, can items in or parts of the database fall foul of Dropbox’s ‘incompatible characters and bad filenames’ requirement, as Finder items can, or is this possibility somehow forestalled by DEVONthink’s Dropbox syncing mechanisms?
No, this can’t happen.
As noted in the built-in Help > Documentation > In & Out > Sync > Q & A…
So the mechanism is generating its own filenames with those raw files.
And, presumably, filenames which play perfectly well with Dropbox. That’s what I wanted to check. Thanks.
