Dropbox Syncing: Transfer to New Computer

Hi everyone,

My colleague and I organise our data through DevonThink. We both use Macs. To do so, we have followed instructions to sync via Dropbox. This involved creating a Dropbox/DEVONsync folder in which a .dtCloud file lives. This has all worked very well.

However, I had to get a new Mac. I did Apple’s Migration Assistant that created a 1:1 copy of my old device onto my new one. That all worked very seamlessly with settings for my software and my files coming over as they previously were.

DevonThink, too, transferred accurately. However, the syncing no longer works. I cannot figure out why. I am attaching below screenshots from the old and new Macs (which I both still have for the next week). The only thing I can think is that my computer username has changed sligthly: from “kdonovan” to “kdonovan_1”. Might that be causing trouble? If so, I cannot change the computer username, but can I make the syncing of DevonThink accurate?

I know it is not working because I have added .rtf files to DevonThink in my new computer and put them in the database but they do not appear on my colleague’s computer.

Thanks!

  • What is reported in DEVONthink’s Window > Log?
  • Does DEVONthink have Full Disk Access enabled in System Settings > Privacy & Security?

PS: This should ideally have been reported in our support ticket system.

Thank you.

Please see the log here:

I think it has full disk access:

In DEVONthink, hold the Option key and choose Help > Report Bug. Thanks.

Done. Thank you.
