7/21/24, 11:15:57 AM: Apple Mail Import of 1 messages failed.
PS:
First log msg was D&D to Sorter. Ditto Mail directly to DT.
Have you tried the recommendations in the blog post previously mentioned…
Rebuilt Mail Inbox per instructions. Wish I’d been told to look for the email in iCloud because I was momentarily freaked out to see that none of the email that looked like it was in my Inbox had any content. Dragged it all from iCloud to Inbox, and dragged a sample email first to Sorter and then directly into DT, then tried dragging directly from iCloud to DT. No luck: Log said the same thing – 7/21/24, 11:12:12 PM: Apple Mail Import of 1 messages failed.
And how many messages are actually in your inbox? Is DEVONthink 3 allowed to automate to Mail?
- Moved everything older than June 2024 elsewhere before rebuilding Inbox.
“Is DT3 allowed to automate mail?” Explain please.
Fourth paragraph in document link provided by @Bluefrog above.
Yes. DT has setting: Privacy & Security: Full Disk Access.
“Allowed its automation requests”?
Your questions are very cryptic and duplicated. See the fourth paragraph in above linked document again. This is how it looks on my macOS machine:
Odd. I thought the quote I used from paragraph 4 made for a succinct question. I did find the phrase “allowed its automation requests” rather cryptic, however.
Be that as it may, in my macOS 14.5, the setting I see for Mail in Privacy & Security: Full Disk Access, is not the same as what you show in yours. There are no Mail options offered.
In Privacy & Security: Automation, Devon Think 3 has all options allowed, including Mail and System Events.
And I still can’t drag and drop an email into DevonThink.
Does rebooting make a difference?
Hi Christian: After I added Mail to Privacy & Security, a reboot activated it and I can now D&D Mail directly to DT3 and the Sorter, with thanks to you and others in the Forum!
Glad to hear it and thank you for the follow-up!
PS: Our general recommendation is to reboot devices at least once a week, both Mac and mobile.
Usually do so – also a very good idea after making changes to Settings for any app.
Worked for me.
This forum another reason to appreciate DT.
But must reiterate that “allowed its automation requests” is a rather cryptic bit of computer-speak.
That’s Apple’s parlance too.
