DT and Mindnode

I am using Mindnode in conjunction with DT> when i copy an URL in Mindnote i got the link : x-devonthink-item:// … I would like to get the title of the file instead, is that possible
Many thanks for your help

Assuming that you paste the URL in Mindnode, then it all depends on the destination field/document and whether it supports rich text or not.

Like pasting to plain/rich text documents in TextEdit for example - in one case you’ll get the raw URL, in the other one the linked title.

Actually if i copy the DT url from a pdf document into Mindnode I got the link as x-devonthink:// … if i just drop the file i got the full text of the document in Mindnode
I tried Cmd-Alt and drop but still got the full text of the doc

Now when i copy the DT URL in an Omnioutliner document it works fine i get the title of the document its different in Mindnode …

same behaviour with Xmind but it woks as expected with SCAPPLE when i copy the DT URL i get the title of the file …

This is completely controlled by the receiver, not by DEVONthink.

okay noted it makes sense lol

Read MindNode’s help on this topic:

There is actually an answer to this conundrum of links hiding in plain sight.

I assume you’re pasting the URL in a MindNode note? Shift-Command-K will open the note editor for a highlighted node.

Go to Devonthink and copy the item link with Control-Option-Command-C or any other method.

Flip back to MindNode and open the note editor for a node, either with Shift-Command-K or in the note tab of MindNode’s inspector.

Put your cursor in the note and hit Command-V. You’ll get a link displaying something like x-devonthink-item://612FD5EB-FE82-41B4-B997-B8678D2DE398. Not what you want.

Instead of plain-jane Command-K, use Shift-Option-Command-V, normally a paste plain text hotkey, and MindNode will give you a link to the Devonthink destination yet displaying the title of the document, which I think is what you’re looking for.

Unfortunately that trick doesn’t work for the node’s URL, the thing you get to by highlighting a node and typing Command-K.

I should also stipulate, regarding plain-jane anything, one of the most brilliant people I’ve ever met was named Jane.

Alas, I had a motorcycle and she, zeal for self-preservation.
