DT Global Inbox Sync issue one way

I am using DEVONthink on four devices:

  1. DT 3.9.6 / Sonoma 14.4.1 on Mac Mini (main work place)
  2. DTTG on iPad on the road
  3. DTTG on iPhone
  4. DT 3.9.6 / Monterey 12.7.2 on Macbook

Sync method iCloud CloudKit

Syncing works fine with iPad, iPhone and Macbook.

Problem with Mac Mini global inbox:
New items from iPad, iPhone or Macbook global inbox are synced to Mac Mini.
New items in the global inbox of the Mac mini are not synced to the other devices.

Syncyng other group works fine in both direction.

I checked every database and the global inbox (repair and integrity).

Any Idea?

TIA
Herb

As noted in our FAQ and often cited on these forums, if you have a sync issue, the first things you should look at are:

  • What is reported in DEVONthinkā€™s Window > Log?
  • Is there a triangle on the sync icon in DEVONthink To Goā€™s bottom toolbar? If so, tap it. What is reported?

DTTG on iPad and iPhone are doing fine and reporting no issue respectively triangles.
DT on Macbook ist doing fine and reporting no issues.

DT on the Mac Mini has no messages in Log. But its changes are no shared with the other devices.

I had run repair and made integrity test on all installation. There were wrong checksums and a dozen files, which are sorted out.

So it dit look in the logs and cleared the problems, before I shared my issue.

Note:
Only the global inbox is affected! Items and group within the databases are doing fine.
This is currently my workaround to get items from my main workplace (mac mini) to the other installations.

In DEVONthink, hold the Option key and select Help > Report Bug to start a support ticket.

I assume in my german localisation it is Hilfe>Kontakt
Bildschirmfoto 2024-04-22 um 07.55.53

Itā€™s Hilfe > Fehler melden while holding the Option key.

Ah, thanx.
You see, DEVONhink is so great and stable that I am so unfamiliar with the report function.

And I should have read Jimā€™s instructions more carefully. :disappointed:

Iā€™m experiencing this same problem. Syncing of the global inbox works in only one direction (Mac Studio ā†’ Macbook Air but NOT Macbook Air ā†’ Mac Studio).

Some notes:

  1. Iā€™m using iCloud (Cloudkit).

  2. The problem followed my setting an encryption key, so Iā€™m sure that I messed up at some point. Iā€™m no longer using the encryption key.

  3. I saw various errors along the way, but I have verified/repaired/rebuilt databases and the errors donā€™t appear now. The most recent error was ā€œBroken or not yet complete data structure of database ā€˜Inboxā€™ā€. But I have rebuilt that database and ā€˜cleanedā€™ the cloudkit database. This error does not appear when I now synch the inboxes.

Iā€™m hoping that there is known fix for this problem.

Thank you!

Iā€™m sorry for posting this. I just repeated the rebuild/cleaning process on both machines, and syncing is working again in both directions.
