I found this annoyance while I had unfolded my tags in the sidebar, scrolled down in that list, chose a tag, and I clicked and deleted some items that were shown (in icon view) which were listed by the tag.
When hitting cmd-backspace, the files were deleted, but the sidebar scrolled back to the top.
You can imagine it is not desired behavior to scroll down a list of 1000 tags every time you delete something.
FYI, the display of the files did not change, only the scroll/list location in the sidebar.
