What is the proepr way to interact with PDF files?
I selected a PDF and asked “Summarize the key ideas from this article.”
However, ther response was
“Please provide the content of the article or let me know if you would like me to extract the text from the selected PDF document.”
Do I need to tell it to extract text from the PDF every time?
Is there a wway to make the font size larger? That chat sidebar font size is too small.
And no, you can’t resize the interface’s fonts.
A more specific prompt might help depending on the used engine/model, e.g. from this document or from the selected document instead of from this article.

Using OpenAi
No font size option for the chat interface is a bummer. Please consider adding that feature. The chat font is tiny and hard to read.
Don’t forget to choose (and test) models. ChatGPT is the AI engine from OpenAI, but it has more than one model. They won’t all respond in the same ways.

Is this a “PDF” or a “PDF + Text” document? If you add word count to your displayed metadata is the word count 0?
Assuming it is PDF only you should right-click and choose OCR to convert to searchable PDF. Then repeat your query.
Please add “Shift + Return” to add a new line. Currently, it submits the chat request.
Why would you need multi-line entry?
I’d echo this request. Makes it easier to track what you’re writing in long form queries, especially if you preface the ask with additional instructions.
The shortcut is Option-Return, works in text fields of most (Cocoa) apps system-wide.
