DT4 - Export/Import groups of Smart Rules

Good Morning,

I would love to export/import a lot of Smart Rules all organised in folders with just a few clicks and with no AppleScript at best.

Unfortunately, I only can export single Smart Rules. There’s no option in the context menu to export a folder

My use case:
I setup a lot of Smart Rules and I want to pass on quite a few of these to my wife’s DEVONthink instance on her MacBook. Most rules are static so exporting/importing would be fine.

Bonus/Maybe: Having a special synchronised database storing the Smart Rules/Smart Groups objects would make it easier to synchronise those via WebDAV, iCloud etc. Scripts in Smart rules would be a challenge to solve.

MacBook A → DT4 → Smart Rule object → Config DB → WebDAV → Config DB → DT4 → MacBook B

I searched the forum, but maybe I oversaw threads about that kind of functionality

There’s nothing to find. Groups for custom items are new in DEVONthink 4 (which is still in beta) and this the first such request.

You could copy the ~/Library/Application Support/DEVONthink/SmartRules.plist file to your wife’s machine while DEVONthink isn’t running. Then remove any unwanted rules after you launch the app.

As I forgot to mention it: I really, really appreciate having groups for custom items.

Groups can’t be exported but it’s possible to export multiple selected smart rules/groups (even if located in multiple groups) via the contextual menu.
