DT4 help viewer – sort TOC by logical sequence?

As much as I love the new help viewer, I find it a bit irritating that the table of contents (sidebar on the left) is ordered alphabetically, thus “Appendix/Automation/Documents” etc with “Getting started” appearing somewhere in the middle. I know, clicking on “Table of contents” just below “DEVONthink Help” provides a more logical view of the chapters. But having a “Table of contents” entry in a table of contents seems a bit of an overkill, perhaps?

I remember that the help in DT3 was presented by chapters and sections, with “previous/next” linking in the chapters to go from one section to the previous/next. Perhaps this can be restored in a later beta?

That’s still available, just hide the left sidebar & the chat assistant and it’s basically the same. But the order in the sidebar is intentional to easily find a chapter/section, e.g. mentioned here in the forum.

Is there any chance there could be an option for the help sidebar to display the table of contents in logical rather than alphabetical order?

The alphabetical order doesn’t necessarily make items easier to find.
(e.g. You usually expect to find the Appendix at the end of a table of contents, not near the top)

We’ll consider this for future releases.
