Before you read this, read this and do it properly!
- Ensure it’s late in the evening and you’re really tired.
- Check the DEVONthink forum and discover DEVONthink 4 has been released in beta.
- In the throes of a rush of adrenaline and excitement download the beta.
- Buy your upgrade licence, download and install the beta and, of course, run it immediately.
- In order to attempt really to mess things up, close DT 4 and have another look at DT 3.
- Activate the DT 4 licence and, in a blur of tiredness, wonder why DT 4 still demands that you “Update”.
- Sleep.
- Horribly early the following morning finally notice the linked post on the forum, do as you’re told, marvel that DT 4 no longer wishes to “Update” and spend some time in DT 4 clearing up tiny particles of mess—which thanks to some remarkably robust programming cause no harm save for time spent that might otherwise have been saved.
Well…at least I had the guts to confess!
