Having consolidated all copies of my Law Library such that the total number of items is now more than 53,000, instead of the actual circa 30,000, I have renamed the thousands of prefixed pdfs so that all the ex prefixed pdfs are sorted abc. For renaming I use ‘A better Finder Rename v11’.
I am now wading through the list deleting duplicates. My question is does DT4 Update Index Items only work after a minimum number of changes or should it work regrdless? Only I’ve found that sometimes when I click Update Index Items nothing happens even though I’ve changed items inn a Finder Folder.
Also, and this is not a DT4 specific question, what can I do to accelerate the processing of changes as I’m finding there is a lag between my renaming and the computer’s display of the rename. I have quit all apps that might be using the memory.
