However, whenever I edit a PDF I have to change the settings for auto correct when opening or adding a new comment. Check spelling while typing is always set back to uncheck when I open a new comment or add one. Is there any way to make it a default value (as it should be, according to my preferences).
How exactly do you edit the PDF? Currently these settings are only used when editing plain/rich text & Markdown documents, formatted notes, HTML pages & web archives.
Thanks for the quick reply. I view a PDF, mark selected text (“Highlight Text” from the toolbar over the PDF window or right-click and select “Highlight”) and then add a note to that selection (right-click on selected text or other element). Or I add a comment directly in the document (using the “Note” button – there is currently no option to do this via right-click that I am aware of).
The PDF editing is one of the few things I find somewhat cumbersome in DTP, especially in comparison to other PDF-editors, especially in terms of comments/notes. But there are plenty of options for external editors and so that’s ok for me. I just would like to stay within DTP.
You are aware that you can keep the PDF’s inside DEVONthink database(s), but use your other and possibly preferred PDF software still installed on your device with the “Open With …” feature (or make those PDF apps your default for PDFs. Nothing says you have to use built-in DEVONthink PDF app.
Ok … but PDF “app” inside DEVONthink is as much a different app as is those app’s already installed. If it’s more important to use DEVONthink, then fine, but then have to put up with what you are disappointed with. Me … I always go with what I prefer. Just me, I guess.
