korm is absolutely correct. These services are not data-safe for our databases. So, technically you are able do it, but it’s unsupported and dangerous behavior.

Does Devon use SQLite?

@ archie: No, Imported document files are stored using Apple’s OS X file system, within the database file in the folder named File.noindex, in their native filetypes. That means that DEVONtechnologies hasn’t made your document files inaccessible by you if you no longer use DEVONthink, nor changed their filetype (as some database apps do).
