DTPO hangs while scanning when Spaces are switched (Leopard)

If Spaces in Leopard is active, and DTPO is in the process of OCR’ing a scan (from S510M) while switching from the Space where DTPO is running to another Space and back, then DTPO hangs and has to be force quit. (The scan file is lost.)

Would seem to be expected behavior to be able to go to another Space while DTPO is busy and do something there?

(I’ll stipulate that Apple didn’t implement Spaces well and I’m turning it off until its bugs are repaired.)

I’ve been doing a lot of scanning/OCR and database work under Leopard but haven’t yet tried Spaces.
