When the app is open, it regularly displays the message “Ein Objekt angelegt und konvertiert” (one object created and converted). This overlays the display and disappears after a moment. The cycle repeats after 30 seconds. Again and again and again. Here are two screenshots:
I have also seen unknown weblocations that point to nowhere. But there are definitely much fewer such files than number of times the popup appeared. I don’t open DTTG4 very often since I only use it to quickly capture things and sync them to the Desktop, but I would say that I first noticed this about a week ago or two.
Clipping isn’t instantaneous. A placeholder is created in the database then the content is pulled from the site to create the finished document. After clipping, I recommend you check the clippings are finished or that you’ve seen that message, if you’re in DEVONthink To Go immediately after clipping.
In Safari on your mobile device, tap the Share button, and choose DEVONthink. The Clip To DEVONthink controls appear. This clips the content of the web page into the chosen location in a chosen database, in the chose format.
Since iOS has limitations on background processes my guess is that this is the issue. I always open the app after capture/clipping to confirm DTTG completes processing items.
Why are you talking about the clipping and capture? This has nothing to do with clipping or capture.
My problem is stated in the first post:
When the app is open, it regularly displays the message “Ein Objekt angelegt und konvertiert” (one object created and converted). This overlays the display and disappears after a moment. The cycle repeats after 30 seconds. Again and again and again.
I made a short video with the problem. In that video, I just open the DTTG4 App and do nothing. This is what happens. It happens all the time and repeatedly.
The idea is that you tried to save something from a web location (aka clipping) and that DTTG did not finish saving before it got shut down.
And clipping is the term used here in about a gazillion posts. Nothing to get excited about.
Problem persists after reboot and also letting DTTG open and untouched for 30 mins and hundreds of these popups. Despite the many popups, I don’t see any new items in my database. At least there is nothing new in the inboxes. Can’t say for sure that there is nothing new at all, but the smart groups “Recently added” and “Today” also show nothing surprising.
