I have a smart group (both on macOS and iPadOS) with the single condition Name matches "Spende 2024". That works as it is supposed to on both platforms. Now I duplicated that smart group on the iPad and changed the condition to Name matches "Spende 2025". This change carried over by sync ok to the Mac where it selects exactly three documents. On the iPad, however, the same documents are selected as with the 2024 smart group, which are a lot more than three.
I verified that the conditions on the iPad are identical but for the year.
When you then edit the smart group again, were the new criteria saved or are they lost?
The criteria are seemingly saved. Also, on iPad, the condition is called “Wie”, whereas on the Mac it is “Stimmt überein mit”. As they are the first ones in both cases, I suppose they mean the same?
More investigation… Changing the condition on the iPad to “Name enthält” does clear the text field. Shouldn’t do that, imo. With Name enthält "Spende 2025", the result on iPad is the same as with Name stimmt überein mit "Spende 2025" on the Mac – three documents.
Name wie "Spende 2024" on iPad also matches more files than Name stimmt überein mit "Spende 2024" on the Mac. So, it seems that “Wie” on the iPad and “stimmt überein mit” on the Mac don’t do the same thing? In that case, the latter one should not be translated into the former one during sync, I think.
