Duration Column Question

I’ve searched the user manual and can not find any information on the Duration Column at View -> Columns menu.

What does it measure, ie. the duration of what?

Duration of the content of a media document. For example, .mp3 or .mp4 If you display that column on those media files you will see “Duration” in hh:mm:ss. It is read-only.

It’s Duration metadata for audio, video, and a few other file types (e.g. Chat transcript and PediaItemDVD on my systems).
