Does anyone know when you can rely on EasyFind to find text in pdf contents?
I have some pdfs with text in them. By that I mean I can copy the text, eg in Preview, and paste it into, eg TextEdit. But if I open the pdf directly in TextEdit, the text I’m looking for isn’t in the binary garbage. The odd label for graphs etc does appear.
So, can you generally say you can’t find text in pdfs with EasyFind, unless the text happens to be in a label? If so, do you know of a product that can search in pdfs (without being specifically for pdfs, like Adobe reader) without being indexed like Spotlight?
Spotlight finds the text fine.
