When editing a markdown document in DTTG4, I find the text size is all over the place. Here is a picture. Text different size in different sections. When making something italic, the text size jumps bigger etc. I am finding it annoying. I have text size set to 14 in settings, but this does not seem to have any effect. Apart the headings, I would expect all text to be the same font size?
To follow up on this, just testing out DTTG4 for the first time, it appears to me that in a markdown document the edit view font size is quite a bit bigger than the rendered view font size that I’ve chosen. Whereas in DTTG3 by comparison, it looks to me like the edit view font size more closely matches the rendered view font size that I’ve chosen. Is this intentional, or could I be experiencing a similar bug as saltlane, above? (I prefer the DTTG3 experience, where the font sizes match better.)
Hard to tell without a sample document. Would you mind to share one (with harmless content) that demonstrates what you see so we can try to reproduce it?
Thanks for the follow-up. Your suggestion prompted the screenshots below. It seems I had gotten used to the DTTG3 markdown edit font actually being smaller than the rendered font and perhaps having a bit more white space between lines, whereas in fact the DTTG4 edit font is actually closer in the amount of overall space it takes up to the rendered font, although the characters in the edit font are quite a bit taller and thus feel bigger, and maybe with less white space between lines, which is perhaps what I didn’t like so much—it felt crowded by comparison. But I guess I am not experiencing a bug, no. Anyway, in terms of future features, I would love to be able to tweak the font, line spacing, and margin spacing in the DTTG4 or future markdown editor the way we can now in DT4. Perhaps someday! Thanks.
Oops, I spoke too soon. Later when I reopened the md editor in DTTG4, I see the same kind of problem mentioned by the OP above—differing font sizes in the edit view. Now it seems that maybe the smaller font size with more white space between lines (what I prefer and what is more like DTTG3) should be the norm, whereas the larger font with less white space between lines is a bug?
