Editing Tool Bar Inconsistancy

I am working with Formatted Text documents on an iPad. I am often using CMD Tab to switch between DTTG and another app. When I first start editing DTTG shows the long tool bar where I can change fonts, justification, highlighting etc.

Very often when I CMD Tab back to DTTG I see a different tool bar with only a few options including a check mark, search icon, 3 dot menu and a few others.

Clicking on the check mark (to save the changes) then Edit does not solve the problem. If I move away from the document then go back to it and Edit I get the original expanded toolbar.

I was wondering why this might be happening and how to stop it.

Thanks.

Screen captures would be helpful.

Sorry, I was looking for an attachment icon. I did not notice that they were drag and drop.

No worries!
So you’re saying, you sometimes Command-Tab back to a document and the editing tools are missing but the top toolbar is visible. Am i following?

  • How often?
  • What app are you switching away to and back from?
  • How long are you in the other app?

Yes, it happens constantly, every day. I am switching mostly from Apple’s Podcast app. I am only in that app for a few seconds to press pause or start again (I am transcribing).

Gotcha!
Are you working on the formatted notes in a group or via a smart group/global smart group?

Yes to formatted notes and most often I am editing the note in a smart group. I will monitor that you’d like.

I just did a quick test and it does not seem to related to smart groups. I started from a folder. I forgot to mention that when I see the smaller tool set in the upper right, I am also seeing the attached tools at the bottom of the document.

Thanks for the information. I’ll do some more testing and file an issue on this.
